Peter Brugger completed his training at a screen and offset printer’s. He studied visual communication at the Basel School of Design in Switzerland, the Pforzheim School of Design in Germany, and the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in Halifax, Canada.
During his studies he came into contact with Magma. in Kontakt. The encounter awakened his interest in fonts. He now teaches typography and font design at the Stuttgart State Academy of Art and Design.
Apart from his work at the academy, he also works as a freelancer. Together with Tobias Koch he developed the Internet presence for Volcano Type. Peter Brugger’s work has received numerous awards and been featured in a variety of publications.
